The Very Rev. Julie Nan Harris, Rector

Born and raised in Oregon, and a cradle Episcopalian, Julie felt drawn to the church. She fondly remembers the “theological” conversations she had with clergy beginning at 9 years of age. After graduating from Pacific Lutheran University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, she taught speech, theater, and English classes in Beaverton and Portland Public Schools.

She completed graduate work in communication and group dynamics at Portland State University. Julie then worked in retail management for fifteen years before following her heart. Her spiritual journey led to New York City and The General Theological Seminary. She was ordained to the priesthood in 1996 in Portland, OR. For the next decade, she served parishes in the Cleveland/Akron Ohio area before being called to Trinity in January 2006. Julie is a leader in the Diocese as a Dean of the Eastern Panhandle, Member of Diocesan Council and Chair of the Commission on Ministry. She also coordinated Education for Ministry for the Diocese.

When not involved in parish activities, Julie can be found at the Wellness Center, in her garden, or with her feline housemates. Julie loves reading and travel. Recent adventures have included London, the Baltic, and Cape Town South Africa.
